We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Principal Program Manager, Strategic Initiatives.  Responsibilities include managing complex, strategic, company-wide, cross-functional programs that impact various departments.  Working closely with key stakeholders, executive sponsors, and business owners, this role will source, plan, organize, manage, deliver, and validate value capture of assigned programs while ensuring program objectives are achieved, gaps are effectively managed, risks are mitigated, and business value is realized. 


    • Partner with department leaders and subject matter experts across the company to assess strategic initiatives against business capital, capabilities, and resources; identify dependencies and risks; and create a plan of action
    • Manage the intake process for strategic, cross-functional initiative ideas originating from department leads; constructively refine and shepherd the business case.
    • Drive company-wide execution of cross-functional strategic initiatives with diplomatic tact to schedule, budget, and scope, to meet established milestones and deliverables.
    • Expeditiously deliver agreed-upon business value through judicious and successful execution of program management best practices.
    • Apply an investment approach (i.e. NPV, ROI, TCO, etc.) to the business case for each strategic initiative.
    • Validate actual outcomes against business case expectations.
    • Develop and manage project documents including project charters, RAIDs, RACIs, schedules, status reports, and executive updates independently or collaboratively, as needed.
    • Facilitate team collaboration to create, plan, share and communicate program knowledge deliverables including business cases, requirements documents, process flows, workflows, procedures, decisions, etc.
    • Distill multi-faceted, complex opportunities to their essential components, construct and share a simplified story in order to drive consistent execution throughout the company.
    • Develop collaborative communication plans indicating how and when all key stakeholders will be engaged, prepared, consulted and informed over the course of each assigned program.
    • Anticipate, capture, incorporate, report, escalate, and proactively mitigate program risks, issues, and changes to the appropriate stakeholders in a timely fashion.
    • Develop relationships at all levels of the organization; understand and manage the expectations of all stakeholders across departments, geographies, and the CopperPoint Family of Companies; act as a trusted partner and liaison between technical and non-technical departments.
    • Develop, continuously improve and archive of world-class learnings, documentation, templates, playbooks, etc with salient, repeatable, and actionable content.
    • Complete special projects as assigned by manager and perform other duties as requested.



    • Bachelor’s degree or 10+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience –AND-
    • Minimum of 10 years’ experience working on complex IT and/or business projects and programs.
    • Demonstration of progressive project and program experience.
    • Experience in one or more of the following will receive additional preference:
      • Insurance industry
      • Strategy Development and Execution
      • Operations Improvement
      • Acquisition Integration
    • Minimum 4+ years of full time work experience in program management can be utilized on a year for year basis as a substitute for a degree.
